Joe will be opening a traditional ceili broadcast live on Friday Dec 11th, 2009 at 11 am Pacific Standard Time * at Flanagan's Pub in Second Life.

The event is free! All you need is a broadband Internet connection and Second Life or iTunes to listen. Flanagan's Pub is a sophisticated but friendly Irish pub with an upstairs dancing room, outside stage, fireplace, romantic garden, pool, darts, chess, outdoor dance area, sltrivia, slexchange, Xstreet, live music, dj's and events. This is a traditional ceili running from11:00 AM SLT - 1:00 PM SLT. I will be kicking off the ceili with a few tunes followed by an assortment of other performers.

Joe Rizzo performs acoustic finger-picking folk rock/ragtime/traditional songs along with his own unique blend of original music. Influences include Rev. Gary Davis, Jazon Mraz, Jerry Garcia acoustic band, Elizabeth Cotten, Bob Dylan, the Beatles & much more. Joe lives in the San Francisco Bay area and currently resides in Berkeley California. He is currently working on his first acoustic solo release 'Resonator'. In Second Life his avatar name is 'Joe Paravane'.

How to Attend the Performance in Second Life

1. Log into Second Life Second Life icon on Friday Dec 11th, 2009 about 10 minutes before 11 am Pacific Standard Time (2 pm Eastern Standard Time).

2. Teleport to Flanagan's Pub (use Second Life's Search and type in 'Flanagan's Pub', if necessary). (Or click here for direct teleport).

How to Listen to the Live Broadcast via iTunes

1. Launch iTunes iTunes iconon Friday Dec 11th, 2009 a few minutes before 11 am Pacific Standard Time (2 pm Eastern Time zone).

2. From the menu bar, select Advanced > Open Audio Stream

3. Type in: http://97.74.80.31:11360 then click OK.

Second Life issues:

If can't hear the music stream in Second Life, toggle the play button at the bottom of the Second Life viewer.

If toggling the play button does not work, from the Second Life menu bar select Edit > Preferences > Audio & Video tab. Verify that the 'Play streaming music when available' box is checked.
